Understanding Your Gazebo Options

Last Updated on August 18, 2020 by Duncan

When you are looking to install a gazebo in your home, you have many options to choose from. Some of these options include:

Classic gazebo

A classic gazebo features an octagonal form, a turreted roof, or both.

This gazebo is freestanding, creating a room in the garden, but at the same time remaining a part of the outdoors.

When you are thinking about installing this gazebo in your home, the first thing you should think about is the location.

Where will you install it? One of the best places to install it is at the top of an incline, where it will be visible to many people.

If you would like a place where you can meditate, you should tuck yours away in a private area.

You can also install it beside a pool, so that you can have a shade near your pool.

In addition to location, you also need to consider the design of the gazebo.

When choosing the design, avoid something that is utterly disconnected from the architecture of your home as it will give your home a confused look.

Modern gazebos

These have a modern look and the most identifying feature is their clarity. They are usually clear as they are made from glass.

You can install a unit that has a complete glass or one with half a glass. It’s up to you to choose the one that looks the best for your home.

Gazebo porch

This isn’t your regular gazebo. The gazebo can be free-standing or open. You can install it next to your home or adjacent to it.

Most of the people that install the porch gazebo are those living in areas with uneven land.

When you are installing the gazebo, you should ensure that it’s safe for the people using it. You can make this possible using balustrade.

When it comes to the roof, go for a turreted roofline. This gives the gazebo a distinctive appeal, and it doesn’t become just another part of the house.

Kiosk gazebo

A kiosk gazebo is a traditional gazebo that originates from the Asian culture. While they aren’t popular in most parts of the world, they are still very popular in southeast Europe and Turkey.

Here, they are found in most public gardens.

When you install them in your home, they give your home a unique, dramatic look. They also create a place for you to enjoy your afternoons.

If you have an office, you can install them there, creating focal points and great meeting destinations.

Poolside Pergolas

From its name, this is a gazebo that you install next to the pool.

At this location, the gazebo provides you with shade and at the same time a place where you can hide from many prying eyes.

Regardless of the design that you choose, you should ensure that you go with the cube-based geometry.

When it comes to the installation, you should install it in an area that creates as much shade as possible.

For you to make the decision, pay attention to the movement of the sun in high summer.

The cool thing with constructing this unit is that you don’t need to install a large one.

A small one will be enough. If you want more privacy, you can install drapes in the gazebo.

Parting shot

These are some of the gazebo options that you have. When installing the unit, ensure that it’s installed by an expert. You also should ensure that it complements your home design.

For you to get the most from the unit, you should highly consider installing some lighting. This way, you will be able to enjoy it even in the evening.

On my 15th birthday, I became the designated gardener in my home.

Now at 32, I have a small garden and every day I'm out trying different plants and seeing how they grow. I grow guavas, peaches, onions, and many others. Want to know more about me? Read it here.
